NextMilePlan is the blog for you if you are passionate about travel, love to browse through travel photography and in search of travel tips. Altogether, it is a travel blog. So, following the advice of some well-known bloggers, I will start this blog with some details about me, about this blog and my purpose for creating this blog.
ABOUT ME
If you have already been through my “About Pooja” tab, then this section might seem very redundant to you. So, feel free to skip this part if you feel like. But, as I said, just redundant, not exactly the same. Sooo…
Hello there!! My name is Pooja. A typical 1994 born girl with the desire to travel and explore the world. Lucky for me, I live in India, which gives me the opportunity to visit so many diverse places without worrying about visa processes and immigration.
I work full time in an IT company. I am a Bengali but currently living in Mumbai, India. Usually, I spend my free time with my loved ones or watch series and movies on Netflix (fan of Sci-fi thriller movies). Hobbies include going through travel vlogs and travel blogs, surf up new places to visit, watching cuisines of different nations. Altogether, anything related to travel or food, I am up for it.
My biggest dream is to visit as many countries as possible. More precisely, not just visit, but even live in the same place for weeks so that I can get a hold of the culture, the way same things are done differently in a different location, and interact with the locals. Even though I am an introvert (big time), I also really enjoy cracking up a conversation with a stranger when travelling. It just opens up your perspectives and you get to know how someone else can have such varied thoughts about the same thing you might have.
I have always been fascinated by the idea of traveling full time. To be honest, this fascination is only during the planning process. The moment I am about to leave my place for the airport or about to reach the destination, I turn into a scared cat. My stomach starts rumbling (even though I don’t feel hungry). I sometimes even shake, not that I let anyone know about it. I never understood why I always felt that way even though I have been to new places earlier. Nonetheless, I know one thing for sure, I am thankful for all the feelings of fear and anxiety that I feel. They make me feel triumphant when I finally pass that stage.
ABOUT NEXT MILE PLAN
Writing has traditionally been my way of expressing myself. Even though all I have ever achieved with my writing is just a few medals during my school time, but still I guess that is what kept me going.
NextMilePlan was born for my passion for travel, photography, and writing. I would spend most of my time visiting travel blogs and keep getting jealous as to why can’t I travel too. Most of them start with long-term travel plans. However, since I will be taking short vacations (due to my 9-5 job), that is what NextMilePlan will be expressing. One does not need to travel full-time to see the world.
Well, I do hope to get to that level of traveling full time too. But it can be achieved in smaller steps as well. I just want to keep exploring new places and share my experiences and views of that place with others.
So, now that I have this blog with me, I can easily share all about my travels with the world. It will act as a motivation for me to keep going and I hope it will help achieve this dream of others too by making them realize that anyone can travel.
P.S. You will get to see lots of ‘really’, ‘definitely’, and ‘literally’ in my writings. So, please bear with me.
MY TRAVEL PLANS
As you already know, 2020 was not a year to travel. With the pandemic and all the restrictions due to it has even forced many full times travellers to return home. But that does not mean that we cannot plan. Right?
There are so so soooooo many unexplored places in my own countryside. So, for the time being, the restrictions are not lifted and it is yet again safe to venture out to faraway places, I will explore nearby. India is a country of diverse culture. People die to visit India and explore. So being an Indian, I am definitely going to take advantage of this opportunity.
Some might say this is quite a weird time to start a travel blog, you know, due to the pandemic. But HEY, why stop planning? 😉
It’s perhaps not a weird time to start a Travel blog, because in some ways there is more time for catching up on writing and less time for travelling if that makes sense.
I haven’t been to India, so I look forward to reading some more of your travel blogs.
Wow! Never looked it that way but it does make sense. And of course, many more India travel posts coming up 🙂
